The Drover’s Wife (Leah Purcell/Bunya) Time-lapse Reel
Time-lapse reel of footage produced for The Drover's Wife Movie. The Official Trailer follows the time-lapse reel.
The brief was to capture time-lapse and landscape imagery over four seasons in the Snowy Mountains Region of NSW, Australia. This was used to convey the dramatic landscapes, major plot points and the passing of time throughout the film. The time-lapse was also used to symbolise the inner or spiritual life of the Drover’s Wife (Leah Purcell) and her family.
The narrative required the capturing of thunderstorms over the ranges, snow on the mountains, the desolation and space of the high-country plains swell as transitions between day and night and moonrise/moonset.
Most setups saw multiple cameras used on the Camblock system to provide tilt/pan and dolly movements over many hours. The various moves were combined with major light changes as briefed.
